The Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) is designed for people who are engaged in the communication of their Catholic Faith, whether directly or indirectly. It can provide general theological knowledge and offer a better understanding of the Catholic faith. It provides the means to accurately and effectively communicate the principles of Catholic teaching.

BISHOP’S CERTIFICATE FOR TEACHERS – FOUNDATION COURSE IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TO COMPLIMENT THE ‘COME AND SEE’ PROGRAMME

Who is it for?

YOU – if you are currently working as a teacher in a Catholic primary school.

What is it for?

To provide an insight into aspects of the Catholic faith and increase knowledge and understanding; to provide theological background to topics in the ‘Come and See’ programme and develop confidence and creativity for its delivery in the classroom.

What is involved?

12 topics covered over six days (9.30am – 3pm) concluding with the award of certificates.  Participants are required to attend a minimum of 5 sessions and to complete and submit one assignment in order to receive the certificate.

Cost

£200 per person, no hidden extras!  Please ask your school to fund.

Who is leading the course?

Each session will be led by David Quinn (Primary RE Adviser – NRCDES) and Julia Palmer (Adult Formation Director).  The Adult Formation commission is also co-ordinating the course.
